Meet Shun Iwai.
Shun Iwai is an award-winning (and bilingual) creative director and copywriter with over 30 years of experience in advertising and marketing in both Japan and the U.S. As the Creative Director for Apple in Japan, he oversaw Apple’s marketing communications—from advertising to interactive to point of sale—for over 11 years. And as Apple’s first and only Creative Director, Writing for Japan, Shun helped create the voice of Apple’s copy for a Japanese audience.
Before joining Apple, Shun worked at the Tokyo office of the international ad agency Wieden+Kennedy as a senior copywriter, where he helped create numerous marketing campaigns for global brands like Google, Nike, Toyota and Delta Air Lines.
Prior to Wieden+Kennedy, Shun was a copywriter at Japan’s top ad agency, Dentsu, where he worked on campaigns and branding strategies for international and national brands such as Toyota, Kirin Beverage and Thai Airways International.
Shun is also currently partnering with Morph Transcreation as their Executive Transcreator.
ShunTokyo understands marketing from the client-side and the agency-side, and from both a Japanese and a global perspective. And we have an extensive network of creatives we can draw on inside and outside of Japan.
So if you need to connect with a Japanese audience, we can help—with everything from strategy to creative execution to localization.
